Westbeld Narrowly Misses Triple-Double, #UDVB Downs Miami

Bruns With Match-High 21 Kills

DAYTON - The University of Dayton volleyball team defeated Miami (Ohio) 3-1 (17-25, 25-19, 25-18, 25-21) Tuesday night at Frericks Center. Sophomore Brooke Westbeld was one off a triple-double with 10 kills, 20 assists and nine digs to lead the Flyers.

Dayton improves to 5-2 on the season while Miami moves to 5-2 for the year.

KEY STATS
• 10-20-9 - Westbeld narrowly missed becoming the first Flyer to record a triple-double since the 2011 season (Samantha Selsky 10K-44A-13D at Illinois Sept. 3, 2011)
• 21 - senior Lauren Bruns was the match's leading attacker with 21 kills
• 23 - sophomore Bridget Doherty set a match-high 23 assists to go with seven digs
• 55-39 - Dayton recorded 55 kills to Miami's 39

UP NEXT
UD is set to travel to Pittsburgh for the Panther Invitational Sept. 7-8. Dayton will square off against No. 12 Washington, host No. 13 Pitt and Kennesaw State over the two-day event.
