DAYTON - The University of Dayton volleyball team is heading to the Washington, D.C., area this weekend for two Atlantic 10 matches against George Mason and George Washington. The Flyers and Patriots will square off Friday at 7 p.m. at George Mason's Recreation Athletic Complex followed by a 5 p.m. match-up against the Colonials in the Smith Center.

Dayton (10-6, 3-0 A-10) has kicked off Atlantic 10 play with three-straight wins and the Flyers have won seven of its last eight matches. UD is entering a four-match road stint, getting underway Friday at George Mason. The Flyers are led offensively by sophomore

Scouting George Mason
George Mason (4-11, 0-3 A-10) is currently suffering through a three-game skid after claiming a 3-0 win over William & Mary Sept. 21 at its George Mason Invitational. The Patriots are led by Siron Hardy with 3.02 kills/set (8th A-10) and Erin Derick serves as the team primary setter with 8.87 assists/set (6th A-10).
Scouting George Washington
George Washington (9-7, 3-0) joins Dayton as one of three teams that remain unbeaten in A-10 action and posted back-to-back straight-set sweeps over Duquesne and La Salle last weekend. Skylar Iott ranks third in the league with 3.82 kills/set while Paty Valle serves up 0.43 aces/set (3rd A-10). Addie Feek records 1.20 blocks/set (4th A-10).

George Mason: Dayton leads, 10-0
Friday's match with by Dayton's third-consecutive match against George Mason in Fairfax. The pair last squared off on Sept. 21 of last season as the Flyers picked up a 3-1 win at the Patriots' RAC.
George Washington: Dayton leads, 36-11
UD has won nine straight against GW with the Colonials' last win against the Flyers happening in DC on Oct. 11, 2014.

In the NCAA's most recent Rating Percentage Index (RPI), released Oct. 6, Dayton ranked 70th according to NCAA.com. George Mason came in at 289 and George Washington was ranked 151.

Tim Horsmon is in his 11th season overall, and sixth since 2007, as head coach of the Flyers in 2019. His record at Dayton is 271-79 and his career win-loss mark sits at 447-243 in 20 seasons as a head coach. Horsmon is the program's second-winningest coach behind only R. Elaine Dreidame who amassed 310 wins 1970-79.
• Over the last 11 seasons (2009-2019), the Flyers have recorded a 133-12 (.917) mark in regular season Atlantic 10 Conference play, including a perfect 14-0 mark in 2016, 2015 and 2012 and a 15-0 record in 2010. UD suffered only one conference loss in 2017, 2014, 2011 and 2009.
