Men’s Soccer Hands Saint Louis First A-10 Loss

Dayton Recorded A Crucial Road Win In Conference Play

ST. LOUIS – The University of Dayton men's soccer team went on the road to defeat Atlantic 10 leaders Saint Louis 2-1 Saturday night.

The Flyers (8-7, 3-2 A-10) moved above .500 in conference play while the Billikens (9-4, 5-1 A-10) suffered their first league loss of the season.

KEY STATS
  • Dayton opened the scoring in the 7th minute with a goal by sophomore Kingsford Adjei, his fifth of the season. Junior Jonas Fjeldberg assisted on the play with his team-leading eighth assist on the year. It was the first goal Saint Louis had allowed in four games since Oct. 1.
  • The Flyers doubled its lead in the 83rd minute when Fjeldberg scored off the assist by freshman Toluwalase Oladeinbo.
  • Saint Louis scored its first goal of the game in the 89th minute to cut the margin to one.
  • Senior goalkeeper Federico Barrios had a career-high 11 saves in the contest.
  • Fjeldberg led the team with four shots, two on goal.
  • SLU outshot UD 21-11, and put 12 shots on target.
