Tough 1-0 Road Loss At VCU For Women's Soccer

Emily Jones Had Five Saves In Goal For The Flyers

RICHMOND, Va. – In an Atlantic 10 match that was moved to 4 p.m. from 1 p.m. for inclement weather, the University of Dayton women's soccer team dropped a 1-0 road decision to VCU at Sports Backers Stadium Sunday afternoon. Even with the match being delayed, the conditions were still rainy and windy.

The Flyers are now 6-7-3 overall and 4-2-2 in A-10 play. The Rams improve to 8-6-2 overall and 2-5-1 in conference matches.
 
KEY STATS
•   The Rams led 14-8 on shots.  
•   Dayton led on corners, 14-6, including 11 in the second half.
•   Dayton had 10 fouls, to nine for VCU.
•  Senior Emily Jones had five saves in goal for the Flyers.

KEY MOMENTS
• The Ram scored in the 78th minute on a header on the far post.
• The Flyers had multiple scoring opportunities in the second half after not recording a shot in the first half. Senior Micayla Livingston had the best two chances in the 81st and 82nd minutes, including a chance at an open goal that went just wide after she beat the keeper.
