DAYTON - The University of Dayton volleyball team improved to 2-0 in Atlantic 10 play with a 3-1 (22-25, 25-23, 25-12, 25-8) win over visiting Rhode Island Friday night at Frericks Center. Bridget Doherty, Jamie Peterson and Maura Collins each tallied a double-double in the win for Dayton.

Dayton improves to 9-6 overall and 2-0 in A-10 action while Rhode Island is now 6-8 on the season and 1-1 in league play.

KEY STATS
• 26&16 - sophomore Jamie Peterson posted her sixth double-double with a match-high 26 kills and a team-high 16 digs
• 23&10 - junior Bridget Doherty tallied her second double-double of the season with 23 assists and 10 digs
• 10&12 - sophomore Maura Collins recorded her first career-double with 12 digs and a career-high 10 assists
• 6 - graduate student Rachael Fara smashed down a Dayton-career-high six blocks as UD out-blocked URI, 8.0 to 5.0

Dayton continues its two-match home stand with a noon matchup against Fordham in A-10 play on Sunday. The Flyers and Rams will get underway at 12:02 p.m. Oct. 6 at Frericks Center and admission is free.
