Women’s Basketball Adds Four To Program

Head Coach Shauna Green Welcomes Four High School Standouts

DAYTON – The University of Dayton women's basketball team and head coach Shauna Green have announced the signing of four new additions to the program.

Dayton welcomes the No. 25 recruiting class in the nation according to espnW Collegiate Girls Basketball Report.

Bailee Adkins, Capria Brown, Makira Cook, and Anna LeMaster have signed to join the Flyers for the 2020-21 season.

"I am extremely excited to announce our 2020 recruiting class," said head coach Shauna Green. "This class is composed of winners and players who match our identity of what a Dayton basketball player embodies on & off the floor. All are used to winning, are competitors and people who are willing to put the work in to be elite."

Bailee Adkins - Guard – 5-7 – St. Joseph Central High School – Lavalette, W. Va.
Adkins is the No. 189 player in the nation according to ASGR and first team All-State honoree in West Virginia the past two seasons. The 5-7 guard is a three-year letterwinner and led the Irish to a state championship this past year and in 2017. Adkins was named All-Tournament Team three years in a row and All-Tri State team twice. She averaged 9.7 points, 4.4 assists, 3.4 rebounds, and 4.0 steals per game while shooting 55 percent from the field. Adkins is also a 4.0 student

"Bailee is someone who will come and help our program in multiple ways," said Green. "She is a tough, hard-nosed player who takes tremendous pride in defending and making her teammates better. She is a winner and has won a state championship."

Capria Brown – Guard – 5-9 – Schlarman Academy – Danville, Ill.
Brown comes to Dayton from Danville, Ill. Where she was ranked No. 61 in the nation according to Collegiate Girls Basketball Report. The 5-9 guard has been named First Team All-State all four years and is ranked in the ESPN Top 100 after being named a McDonald's All-America nominee. Brown led her team to a state championship twice and conference championship three times. She has earned All-Conference and All-Area four years as well. In her career at Schlarman Academy, Brown averaged 19.1 points and 3.4 assists per game.

"Capria brings versatility to our perimeter with being able to score in a variety of ways," added Green. "She is an elite athlete who can defend multiple positions. She has won a state championship and knows what it takes to win consistently."

Makira Cook – Guard – 5-6 – Mount Notre Dame High School – Cincinnati, Ohio
Cook joins the Flyers as the No. 82 player in the country from Prospect Nation and has led Mount Notre Dame High School to a pair of state championships. The 5-6 guard lettered all four years and was the Defensive Player of the Year the past three seasons. Cook was named First Team All-Conference twice and Second team twice while leading the team in assists. She helped the Cougars win three conference titles as well.

"Makira is a player that can facilitate as well as score at all three levels," said Coach Green. "She is a fierce competitor, who takes great pride in locking up her opponent on the defensive end. She too has won a state championship."

Anna LeMaster – Guard – 5-9 – Stone Bridge High School – Ashburn, Va.
LeMaster is a 5-9 wing player out of Ashburn, Va. ranking No. 175 in the ASGR. She averages 16.0 points, 6.5 rebounds, and 3.0 assists per game at Stone Bridge High School, earning All-Conference honors the past three seasons. LeMaster has already recorded over 1,000 points in her career in just three seasons and set a school record for most made three pointers last year with 52. She has earned All-County, All-District, All-Region, and All-Freshmen team honors. LeMaster has been named team captain and MVP while earning multiple All-Tournament team accolades.

"Anna is as hard of a worker you will find and someone who competes at an elite level. She can shoot the ball very well and will add versatility to our wing position."

The Flyers head to Northeastern Saturday to take on the Huskies at 6 p.m. ET.
