BRONX, N.Y. – The University of Dayton men's soccer team battled to a 1-0 victory over No. 2 seed VCU on a chilly Friday night in New York.

The Flyers (13-7) make it eight games in a row while the Rams (7-8-3) end their season.

KEY STATS

• In the 31^st minute, a handball in the box gave Dayton a penalty kick which sophomore Kingsford Adjei converted for his 11^th in 11 games.
• The Flyers and Rams matched each other with five shots in the first half, but UD had a 3-1 shots on goal advantage.
• Dayton outshot VCU 13-11 in the game.
• The Rams committed 17 fouls to the Flyers 11 and had two yellow cards.
• Adjei led UD with six shots while junior Jonas Fjeldberg had three.
• This is the eighth straight win and seventh shutout for the Flyers.
• Goalkeeper Federico Barrios had two saves.
