Box Score DAYTON -- The University of Dayton men's tennis team fell to Richmond on Sunday morning at the Five Seasons Family Sports Club by a score of 4-3. The Flyers now have a record of 4-3 this season, while Richmond improves its record to 6-2 on the year.
Jordan Benjamin and
Spencer Richey won their fifth straight match at No. 1 doubles, but losses on courts two and three allowed Richmond to take the doubles point.
Benjamin also won at No.1 singles with a 6-3, 6-3 win over Brice Polender and
Langford Hills improved his singles record to 7-0 in dual match play with a dominant 6-0, 6-4 win at No. 2 over Matt Fernandez. Freshman
Joe DeMarco was responsible for Dayton's other point in the match with a straight sets win over John Walsh, 6-4, 6-1.
The Flyers are on the road next weekend with a pair of matches at the West Indy Racquet Club in Indianapolis on Feb. 22. Dayton will match up with IUPUI first at noon before taking on Eastern Illinois at 5 p.m. (ET).
