Saint Louis Takes Game Two Over #UDBASE, 4-3

Dayton And Saint Louis Will Play For The Series Tomorrow At 1 p.m (ET)

ST. LOUIS – The University of Dayton baseball team dropped game two of its series with Saint Louis by a score of 4-3. Dayton is 8-11-1 this season, while Saint Louis moves back to .500 with an 11-11 record. Dayton had the game-tying run on third with one out, but consecutive groundouts to the pitcher ended the game.
 
KEY MOMENT
Tate Hagan opened the ninth with a pinch hit double to the right center gap and was replaced on the base paths by pinch runner Jake Silverstein. Silverstein advanced to third when Eddie Pursinger flied out deep to right, but back-to-back groundouts to the pitcher from Jay Curtis and Riley Tirotta ended the game.

Scott Youngbrandt led off the frame with a single and another single from Jake Garella placed runners on the corners. A called balk by the home plate umpire scored the run from third.

Jay Curtis drew a leadoff walk, then a Riley Tirotta double and Michael Cleary HBP loaded the bases with no outs. Takahiro Yamada ripped a single through the right side of the infield to drive home Curtis and Tirotta scored on a Benjamin Blackwell 4-6-3 double play.

Michael Cleary walked, Takahiro Yamada was hit by a pitch and Benjamin Blackwell got an infield single to load the bases with no outs. Mitchell Garrity grounded out into a double play, but that allowed Cleary to score from third and tie up the game.

Scott Youngbrandt singled to left to open the inning and moved into scoring position on a sac bunt. Youngbrandt advanced to third on a groundout to the right side of the infield, then scored on a wild pitch.
