DAYTON - The University of Dayton softball team is set to host Rhode Island this weekend for a three-game Atlantic 10 set at UD Softball Stadium. Due to impending inclement weather, the first game of the series has been moved up to Friday, March 29 at 4 p.m. This weekend, the team will be promoting breast, colon and ovarian cancer awareness with pink jerseys, teal shoe laces and special wristbands.

Dayton (14-16, 4-1 A-10) picked up a mid-week A-10 doubleheader sweep at Saint Louis on Wednesday, 9-3 and 7-3, and has won four of its last five games. The Flyers are led offensively by senior

Scouting the Rams
Rhode Island (11-15, 0-3 A-10) is currently suffering through a five-game losing streak, including its 4-1 loss at Boston University Thursday evening. The Rams opened Atlantic 10 action at Saint Joseph's March 23-24, dropping three straight to the Hawks.
Series Stuff
Dayton and Rhode Island have previously met 50 times with the Flyers holding a 29-20-1 advantage in the series. The pair met three times in Kingston, R.I., last season as UD swept the series, 2-1, 6-0, 1-0, during the final weekend of regular season play.

In the NCAA's most recent Rating Percentage Index (RPI) for the 2019 season posted on March 24, Dayton came in at 211 according to NCAA.com. Rhode Island was ranked 213.
