Columbus, Ohio – In a day where the storyline was the weather, the Flyers still found a way to compete hard against a tough field. Dayton is currently tied for 9
th place with four other teams at 313 (+29). The team was led by
Domenic Maricocchi, who shot a 72 on a day. He also led the team with 5 birdies.
The conditions at the course got worse throughout the day and forced the officials to suspend play in the early afternoon. After a discussion with everyone, it was decided to suspend play for the rest of the day. In addition, they decided to cancel all of the scores that had been posted for Round 2. It was also decided that, due to the impending weather tomorrow, they will only play 18 holes. This will cut the total number of holes played to 36.
Michigan State is currently in First Place with a team score of 294 (+10).
Coach's Comment
"It was a tough day out there" said Head Coach
Gip Hoagland. "The course is usually pretty difficult all on its own and when it rains and the wind blows all day, it gets pretty nasty. I felt the guys kept positive attitudes and did teh best they could out there today. Tomorrow is moving day. We are in a good position to climb up the leader board. If we continue to do the little things right and make good decisions, we will be okay. Tomorrow should be really fun and I'm excited to finish up our regular season on a strong note!"
