Alexis Goins scored her first collegiate goals and seniors
Caroline Mink and
Jordan Pauley both scored as the Flyers flew to a 5-1 win over Miami in their regular season opener in front of 1,356 fans at Baujan Field Thursday night.
KEY STATS
• Dayton led 1-0 at halftime.
• The Flyers outshot Miami 26-8, including 18-3 in the second half with UD scored four goals.
• UD also had a huge advantage on corner kicks, 10-1 over the RedHawks.

Carly Becker had four saves in goal including back-to-back saves in the 43
rd minute, a kick save, and then a diving rebounds save.
KEY MOMENTS
• Dayton got on the scoreboard first in the sixth minute. Senior
Micayla Livingston sliced through the defense and then played a through box into the box to Goins who finished on the fly with a one-touch finish to the lower far post.
• Senior
Caroline Mink scored in the 55
th minute on an assist from freshman
Landy Mertz. She trapped the ball off her chest to her feet and drilled the ball into the back of the net.
• On an offensive attack by
Laney Huber to Goins, the RedHawks scored an own goal.
• Goins scored again in the 77
th minute off assists from sophomore
Izzy Greene and
Emma Thomas.

Jessica Sheldon was fouled in the box which resulted in a penalty kick. Senior
Jordan Pauley drove it home to put UD up 5-1 in the 80
th minute.
