Women's Soccer Comeback Falls Short Against Illinois, 3-2

Jordan Pauley And Laney Huber Scored For The Flyers

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – The University of Dayton women's soccer team clawed back from a 3-0 deficit, but came up just short in a 3-2 loss to Illinois Sunday afternoon.

KEY STATS
• The score was tied 0-0 at halftime.
• Dayton outshot Illinois 13-12, including 9-6 on goal.
• The Flyers committed 13 fouls, while the Illini had 10.

KEY MOMENTS
• Illinois scored in the 49th, 53rd, and 61st minutes to take a 3-0 lead.
• Jordan Pauley scored on a PK in her second consecutive match to pull UD within 3-1 in the 67th minute.
• Freshman Laney Huber scored her first collegiate goal on a breakaway on the assist from fellow freshman Yaiza Navarro Leon.
• Freshmen Jessica Sheldon and Landy Mertz had shots on goal in the 80th minute and 83rd minutes for the Flyers.
