SPRINGFIELD, Mo. - The University of Dayton volleyball team closed out its weekend schedule with a straight-set win over Missouri State Saturday afternoon. The Flyers downed the Bears, 3-0 (25-12, 25-19, 25-18), in the finale of the Missouri State Fall Invitational at MSU's Hammons Student Center.
Dayton improves to an even 5-5 on the season while Missouri State moves to 3-7 overall.
KEY STATS
• 15 - junior
Bridget Doherty set a match-high 15 assists to go with a season-high three service aces
• 14 - sophomore
Jamie Peterson tallied a match-high 14 kills while swinging at .414 to go with her five digs, three assists, three blocks and two service aces
• 13 - also in double-digit kills was sophomore
Alli Papesh with 13 and was swinging at .500. Sophomore
Maura Collins got under a match-high 13 digs for the Flyers
• 8.0 - as a team, Dayton recorded 8.0 total blocks, including five assisted blocks from junior
Olivia Dubay, compared to Missouri State's 3.0 total blocks
• .386 - as a team, the Flyers hit at a season-high .386, including junior
Brooke Westbeld's .833 (5-0-6), while the Bears were swinging at .079
