COLUMBUS, Ohio - The University of Dayton volleyball team split its matches on the first day of play at the OSU Buckeye Invitational. During the morning session, Dayton downed Miami (Ohio) in straight sets, 3-0 (25-16, 25-14, 25-20), before falling to host Ohio State, 3-1 (24-26, 25-16, 25-20, 25-23), in the night cap.
Dayton heads into Saturday's match against Illinois State with a 6-6 record.

Jamie Peterson tallied her fifth double-double of the season with a match-high 17 kills to go with 10 digs in Dayton's win over Miami

Maura Collins was the team's leading passer on the day getting under 15 digs in both of Friday's matches

Rachael Fara posted a Dayton career-high 11 kills while swinging at a blistering .579 (11-0-19) against Ohio State

Amelia Moore averaged 1.29 blocks/set on the day with six blocks against Miami and three stuffs against OSU
• .390 - as a team, the Flyers posted a season-best .390 hitting percentage in the 3-0 win over the RedHawks

Dayton will wrap play at the OSU Buckeye Invitational Saturday with a single game against Illinois State. First serve between the Flyers and Redbirds is set for 12 p.m. at OSU's Covelli Center.
