Women's Soccer Wins A-10 Opener 2-0 Over George Mason

Micayla Livingston and Alexis Goins Scored For The Flyers

DAYTON – The University of Dayton women's soccer team opened Atlantic 10 action with a win over George Mason by a score of 2-0 Sunday at Baujan Field.

The Flyers improve to 3-5-1 (1-0-0 A-10) and the Patriots fell to 2-5-1 (1-0-0 A-10).

KEY STATS
•  The shots were fairly even, with George Mason holding a 10-9 advantage. 
•  Dayton had the edge on shots on goal 4-3 and 3-1 on cornerkicks.
•  Nine Flyers each took one shot in their balanced attack.
•  Redshirt sophomore Carly Becker recorded three saves and she earned her third career shutout for the Flyers. 

KEY MOMENTS
• Senior Micayla Livingston scored the game-winning goal in the 10th minute off a rebound to put the Flyers on the board. Freshman Audrey Steiert set up the goal opportunity for Livingston.
• The Flyers led 1-0 at halftime.
• Freshman Alexis Goins scored in the 50th minute off a rebound off the feed from fellow freshman Yaiza Navarro Leon to extend the Dayton lead to 2-0.

UP NEXT
• The Flyers are at home again on Thursday, Sept. 26 against Rhode Island. Kickoff is at 7 p.m.
