DAYTON – The University of Dayton women's soccer team remains unbeaten in Atlantic 10 action with a 0-0 double overtime draw vs. Rhode Island Thursday night at Baujan Field.
The Flyers are now 3-5-2 overall (1-0-1 A-10) and the Rams have an overall record of 3-4-3 (0-1-1 A-10).
KEY STATS
• Dayton held a 16-12 advantage on shots, including 3-1 on goal.
• The Rams played a physical match with 18 fouls, while the Flyers committed just three fouls.
• Seven different Flyers took shots led by
Landy Mertz with five shots, including two shots on goal.
• Redshirt sophomore
Carly Becker had just one save in goal, but it was a big one with just seven seconds remaining in the match.
KEY MOMENTS
• Dayton's best chances came in the 109th minute when
Laney Huber's shot went off the post, taking the URI keeper off the line and Mertz's follow-up shot on the open goal that was blocked.
• The Flyers also had good chances in the 54th and 68th minutes on shots on goal by
Caroline Mink and Mertz.
