Men's Tennis Takes On No. 6 Ohio State Wednesday

First Serve For The Flyers Is 4:30 p.m. At The OSU Varsity Tennis Center

DAYTON – The University of Dayton men's tennis team will take on the No. 6 ranked Ohio State Buckeyes this Wednesday, Jan. 15 at the OSU Varsity Tennis Center on Henderson Road. All home men's tennis matches offer free admission and free parking.

OSU opens its season that morning vs. Northern Kentucky at 10 a.m. and first serve for the Flyers is slated for 4:30 p.m.

The Buckeyes, No. 6 in the Oracle/ITA Division I Men's Team Rankings, have won at least a share of the last 14 Big Ten titles and 12 of the last 14 Big Ten Tournament titles. They have made an NCAA Tournament appearance in each of the last 20 seasons.

"It's not often you get the opportunity to play a top ten team. OSU was national indoor champion last year," said Head coach Ryan Meyer. With a young team I feel like this is an opportunity we couldn't pass up. I'm really looking forward to seeing what we can do tomorrow."

"I'm really excited to see our team compete against OSU; we've all worked so hard and now we have some unbelievable opportunities ahead," said junior Will Harper. "I expect myself and the entire team to bring our absolute best.

"Ohio State is an elite program in college tennis, so having an opportunity to face them is very exciting and motivating," he added. "These matches will teach us a lot about ourselves as individual players and as a team unit."
