DAYTON – University of Dayton women's tennis head coach
Erica Echko has announced the signing of three student-athletes who will join the team for the 2021-22 season. Jordan Mitchell, Laura Greb, and Neena Katasukas have all signed National Letters of Intent to continue their tennis careers for the Flyers next season.
"I'm super excited about next year's recruiting class," Echko said. "All three of our recruits are excellent students and this class will really improve our team."
The first member of the Dayton class of 2025 is Jordan Mitchell. Mitchell is a native of Allen, Texas and will graduate from Allen High School in May. A three-star recruit, Mitchell made it to the Texas State Championships during her freshman year under head coach Justin Quest.
"Jordan is the first freshman to ever go to the Texas 6A State Championships in girls singles from Allen High School, a very large school," Echko said. "She is also a Texas Super Champ. We are very excited to have her."
The Flyers will also add Laura Greb. Greb is another three-star recruit from Knoch High School in Butler, Pa. A top-10 recruit in the state of Pennsylvania, she has had strong performances in both singles and doubles throughout her high school career under head coach Nancy Conlon, advancing all the way to the Pennsylvania 2A State Championship in 2017.
"Laura is another great addition to the program," Echko said. "She has had great success in the high school state tournament and can hold her own in both singles and doubles play. We can't wait for her to get to Dayton."
The last member of this recruiting class is Neena Katauskas from Chamblee Charter High School in Chamblee, Ga. Katauskas is a four-star recruit that is ranked in the top 200 in this recruiting class and was a member of two GHSA 5A State Champion teams in 2018 and 2019.
"Neena has a winning mentality," Echko said. "Her high school record is 42-1 and her team won the state championship her freshman and sophomore season. She has had much success in USTA tournaments and we anticipate Neena to be an impact player."
