DAYTON - University of Dayton's volleyball head coach Tim Horsmon has announced the addition of Ktyal Price to the Flyers' 2020 roster. The 6-1 middle blocker is set to graduate from Hopkins High School in Minnetonka, Minn., this coming June.

"Ktyal is new to the game in many respects, but is a great athlete with a high ceiling," said Horsmon. "I believe if Ktyal would not have chosen to play volleyball at this level she would have continued her track & field career, where she was ranked 6th nationally in high jump (cub) and 9th in the state of Minnesota for hurdles (high school). She is exactly what we were looking for in a player that we can develop and has all of the athletic qualities and drive to be a special player.

"We knew we wanted Ktyal to be a Flyer after her first phone call with us," continued Horsmon. "She is about the right things on and off of the floor, and we had an exceptional visit with her. She showed maturity, character and has a light about her that is contagious."

Price played varsity volleyball at Hopkins High School under head coach Vicky Swenson and served as team captain during her senior season. Also a member of the Hopkins track & field team, she participating in long jump, high jump, triple jump and hurdles. Price has a twin brother, Cornelius, and is ambidextrous, plays the saxophone and loves to bake.
