Adjei Named Senior CLASS Award Top 30 Candidate

The Senior Midfielder Was Selected To Move On For The Honor

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – The 2021 Senior CLASS Award Top 30 candidates for men's soccer were announced with University of Dayton senior Kingsford Adjei honored as one of the student-athletes up for the award.

To be eligible for this award, a student-athlete must be classified as an NCAA Division I senior or graduate-student and haven notable achievements in four areas of excellence: community, classroom, character, and competition.

Adjei is the lone member of the Atlantic 10 represented for the men's candidates.

"Kingsford has had an amazing career at Dayton both on the field and in the classroom," said head coach Dennis Currier. "He is respected highly in the conference winning back-to-back midfielder of the year accolades. It is great to see him recognized on the national stage."

Adjei is the reigning and two-time A-10 Midfielder of the Year and tied for the team lead in scoring the last two seasons. The Ghana native is currently tied for second in both scoring and assists this year despite missing a few games due to injury. Adjei has accumulated numerous accolades since he stepped foot on campus including A-10 First Team All-Conference Twice, Second Team All-Midwest Region, and All-Tournament team. The senior midfielder still has an opportunity to add to that this season as A-10 play gets underway.

The list of honorees will be narrowed to 10 finalists later in the season with the winners announced during the NCAA Division I Championship.

Adjei and the Flyers return to action Saturday at home against UMass.
