DAYTON - The University of Dayton volleyball team swept visiting Xavier, 3-0 (25-20, 25-21, 25-16), Wednesday night in non-conference action at Frericks Center. Senior Jamie Peterson posted a match-high 19 kills while swinging at .581 for the match.

Dayton improves to 14-5 on the season while Xavier moves to 9-8 overall.

• 311 - with tonight's win, head coach Tim Horsmon has amassed 311 career wins at Dayton, surpassing all-time wins leader Elaine Dreidame, who held the previous record (310) since 1979
• 30 - sophomore Livie Sandt set a match-high 30 assists for the Flyers
• 19 - Peterson recorded 19 kills to lead the Flyer attack
• 11 - as a team, Dayton served up 11 aces, led by freshman Lexie Almodovar with four, to Xavier's four aces
• 9.0 - Dayton recorded 9.0 team blocks, led by sophomore Amelia Moore with five

UP NEXT
Dayton will return to Atlantic 10 action on Friday when it plays host to Rhode Island in UD's sixth of seven home matches in a row. First serve between the Flyers and Rams is set for 7 p.m. at Frericks Center and admission is free. Per current City of Dayton Mask Mandate, fans are required to wear their masks completely over their nose and mouth throughout their time in Frericks Center (including inside the Gym) unless actively eating or drinking.
