DAYTON - University of Dayton football senior
Jack Cook and women's soccer sophomore
Itala Gemelli have been named the
Ohio's CollegeAdvantage Student-Athletes of the Week for contests during the week of Oct. 11-17.
Hailing from Cranberry Township, Pennsylvania, Cook became the Dayton record holder for touchdown passes in a career with his 60th career scoring pass on Saturday. In the loss to Marist, Cook was 20-for-28, passing for 250 yards with a touchdown and an interception.
Gemelli, a Rochester, Michigan, native, netted her 10th goal of the season on Sunday to cap off a four-goal week for the Flyers. She scored two goals in Thursday's home win over GW, and followed that up on the road Sunday with two more goals against St. Bonaventure, including the eventual match-winner. Gemelli was named A-10 Player of the Week for the third time in four weeks on Monday.
Each week we will recognize Dayton student-athletes throughout the end of the school year.
