RICHMOND, VA -Â The University of Dayton women's soccer team was on the road Sunday to round out the regular season, as they took on the Richmond Spiders. The Flyers, fighting for seeding in next week's Atlantic 10 Championships, scored early and often against the Spiders, and did their part to earn the number 2 overall seed in the Atlantic 10, posting their best conference record since 2015 at 8-2.

Jessica Sheldon, after assisting on the opening goal, played add-on in the first half, as her 29
th minute tally gave the Flyers a 2-0 lead heading into the locker room. Sheldon wouldn't stop there, however, as she would assist on
Itala Gemelli's 11
th goal of the season to open the second half, putting the Flyers up 3-0 in the 50
th minute.Â

The Flyers would coast through the second half, owning a 5-0 shot advantage in the frame. With the 3-0 win and a Saint Louis loss to Rhode Island Sunday in overtime, the Flyers claim the #2 overall seed for the upcoming Atlantic 10 Championships. The Flyers will host a tournament quarterfinal match at Baujan Field this Sunday, October 31. The time for that match will be announced later this week.
