PITTSBURGH - The University of Dayton volleyball team captured its league-record 15th Atlantic 10 Championship title Sunday with a straight-set win over Fordham. The Flyers claimed set wins of 27-25, 25-13, 25-18 over the Rams in the tournament's final match and have earned the A-10's automatic berth into the 2021 NCAA Tournament.
Dayton improves to 25-5 overall and extends its winning streak to 19 matches. Fordham moves to 10-20 for the season.
KEY STATS
• 11.5 - as a team, Dayton tallied 11.5 total blocks led by freshman
Alayna Yates with seven; Fordham recorded 2.0 team blocks
• .450 - sophomore
Amelia Moore posted a .450 hitting percentage with 10 kills to one error in 20 attempts
• 35 & 13 - sophomore
Livie Sandt recorded her seventh double-double of the season with match highs in assists (35) and digs (13)
• 15 - senior
Jamie Peterson led all attackers with 15 kills to go with seven digs and five blocks
• 5 - senior
Alli Papesh served up a career-high five aces
• .092 - Dayton held Fordham to a team hitting percentage of .092 for the match

For the second-consecutive season, Peterson was named the tournament's Most Outstanding Player. Joining her on the All-Tournament Team from Dayton are freshman
Lexie Almodovar and Yates.

The 2021 DI Women's Volleyball Championship
bracket will be announced the Sunday before the first round of competition. The selection show will air at 8:30 p.m. on ESPNU Sunday, Nov. 28. The First and Second Rounds will be played Dec. 2-4 at campus sites. This will be the program's 16th appearance in the NCAA Tournament.
