DAYTON - The University of Dayton volleyball team will close out the home portion of its 2021 schedule this weekend with Atlantic 10 matches against George Mason and George Washington. Dayton will play host to George Mason on Friday at 7 p.m. followed by Senior Day on Sunday against George Washington on Sunday. Senior recognition will take place following Sunday's match. All home games are played at Frericks Center and admission is free.

LIVE STATS LINKS - Due to Dayton hosting the 2021 Atlantic 10 Women's Soccer Championship semifinals and finals, Friday and Sunday's volleyball matches will not be available via ESPN+.

About Dayton
Dayton (20-5, 13-0 A-10) sits alone atop Atlantic 10 standings with an unblemished 13-0 record in league matches. The Flyers need to win just one of their last three matches to claim an out-right 2021 regular season title. As a team, Dayton leads the A-10 with a .228 hitting percentage, 2.55 blocks/set and 1.95 digs/set. Senior Jamie Peterson leads the team with 4.31 kills/set (1st A-10, 25th NCAA) and 0.45 aces/set (2nd A-10, 32nd NCAA) and sophomore Amelia Moore is the team's blocks leader with 1.22 blocks/set (1st A-10).

Scouting George Mason
George Mason (5-18, 3-9 A-10) is coming off back-to-back losses to Saint Louis, a 3-1 setback at home on Oct. 24 and a 3-0 loss in St. Louis on Oct. 29. Prior to those two losses the Patriots had won three of their last four contests. GM's Olyvia Kennedy leads the team with 2.77 kills/set (10th A-10) and Erin Derick is the team's primary setter with 8.45 assists/set (4th A-10).

Scouting George Washington
George Washington (2-21, 2-10 A-10) is currently suffering through a four-match losing streak after a 3-1 win over Mason at home on Oct. 16. The Colonials' Salem Yohannes leads the team with 2.69 kills/set while Lauren LaBeck tallies 6.10 assists/set (7th A-10) and serves up 0.28 aces/set (10th A-10). Bella Brady, five-time A-10 Defensive Player of the Week, leads the league with 5.54 digs/set.

Series Stuff
George Mason: Dayton leads, 13-0
Dayton has won all 13 meetings between the Flyers and Patriots. The last time George Mason won a set in the series was its 3-1 loss at home on Sept. 21, 2018.

George Washington: Dayton leads, 39-11
UD has won 12-straight meetings in the all-time series between the Flyers and Colonials, including a 3-1 win in Washington, D.C., on Sept. 24.

RPI Rankings
In the NCAA's most recent Rating Percentage Index (RPI) for the 2021 season (Oct. 31), Dayton ranked 45th according to NCAA.com. George Mason came in at 305th and George Washington was rated 327th.

Hausfeld Court
Former Flyer Kacie Hausfeld passed away tragically in an airplane crash during her time as a Dayton Flyer. In her memory, her family made a substantial contribution to the Dayton volleyball program. That donation enabled the program to renovate Frericks Center, adding a new public address and sound system, new seating on the event level, new scoreboards and video boards and the playing surface was named "Hausfeld Court" among many other improvements to the facility.

• Tim Horsmon is in his 13th season overall, and eighth since 2007, as head coach of the Flyers in 2021. His record at Dayton is 317-89 and his career win-loss mark sits at 493-253 in 23 seasons as a head coach. Horsmon is now the program's winningest coach, surpassing R. Elaine Dreidame who amassed 310 wins 1970-79.
• Over the last 13 seasons (2009-2021), the Flyers have recorded a 164-14 (.921) mark in regular season Atlantic 10 Conference play, including a perfect 14-0 mark in 2016, 2015 and 2012 and a 15-0 record in 2010. UD suffered only one conference loss in 2020, 2019, 2017, 2014, 2011 and 2009.
