DAYTON - The University of Dayton volleyball team claimed its 15th Atlantic 10 regular season title Friday night with a 3-0 (25-20, 25-18, 25-18) win over visiting George Mason. It's the ninth regular-season league title for head coach
Tim Horsmon.
Dayton is now 21-5 on the season and 14-0 in A-10 action. George Mason moves to 5-19 overall and 3-10 in league games.
KEY STATS
• 21 & 10 - senior
Jamie Peterson led all attackers with 21 kills on her way to her sixth double-double of the season with 10 digs
• 12 - freshman
Anna Wuensch got under a team-high 12 digs
• 5 - freshman
Lindsey Winner tallied a career-high five kills while hitting at .667 (5-1-6)
• 2 - four Flyers tallied at least two blocks in the match
UP NEXT
Dayton will wrap up the home portion of its 2021 schedule on Sunday as it plays host to George Washington. First serve is set for 1 p.m. at Frericks Center and Senior Day recognition will take place following the match. Admission is free and
fans are required to wear their masks completely over their nose and mouth throughout their time in Frericks Center (including inside the Gym) unless actively eating or drinking.
