DAYTON - The University of Dayton volleyball team closed out the home portion of its 2021 schedule Sunday afternoon with a 3-0 (25-13, 25-18, 25-12) win over George Washington at Frericks Center. Seven departing team members were recognized after the match, highlighting their careers as Flyers.
Dayton is now 22-5 overall, 15-0 in Atlantic 10 play and is currently enjoying a 16-match winning streak dating back to Sept. 24. George Washington moves to 2-23 on the season and 2-12 in A-10 games.
KEY STATS
• .287 - as a team, the Flyers posted a .287 hitting percentage for the match compared to the Colonials' -.048
• 11 - as a team, Dayton tallied 11.0 total blocks led by sophomore
Amelia Moore with eight and senior
Jamie Peterson with seven
• 10 & 10 - Peterson tallied her seventh double-double of the season with a match-high 10 kills to go with 10 digs
• 10 - freshman
Alyssa Miller was just two off her career high with 10 assists, all of which were collected in the third set
UP NEXT
Dayton will wrap up its 2021 regular-season slate next Friday with a single match at Saint Louis. The Flyers and Billikens are slated to square off at 5 p.m. ET at SLU's Chaifetz Pavilion. Match time is subject to change.
