WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. - The University of Dayton women's basketball team will wrap-up its third trip to Florida Tuesday with a contest against Clemson University at the West Palm Beach Invitational. Tip-off is at 3:30 p.m. at Palm Beach State College campus.
SCOUTING THE FLYERS
Dayton enters the contest with a 7-3 record overall and 2-1 neutral site mark. The Flyers have won four of their last five games, only one of which took place at home.
Head coach
Shauna Green is in her sixth season in charge of the Flyers and was named Atlantic 10 Coach of the Year 2020, her second time at UD. She earned her 100th win at Dayton in the regular season final last year.
As a team this year, Dayton is scoring 66.7 points per game and holding opponents to 59.7 points each outing. The Flyers are shooting 39.9 percent overall, 39.3 percent from three point range, and 63.2 percent from the free throw line. UD also benefits from +4.4 rebounding and +1.1 turnover margins.

Makira Cook, who is averaging 15.5 points per game, and graduate student
Erin Whalen, who is averaging 15.4 points and 6.6 rebounds per game. Fellow grad student
Jenna Giacone is another double-figure scoring threat with 12.5 points per game.
SCOUTING CLEMSON
Clemson finishes up its pre-holiday break slate with a 6-5 record on the season and 0-1 neutral site mark. The Tigers have played just two games away from home since Nov. 17, both losses at Syracuse and No. 21 LSU.
Head coach Amanda Butler is in her fourth season with Clemson, but has 16 years of head coaching experience and 276 career wins.
This season, Clemson is averaging 65.1 points per outing and giving up 65.4 points to opposing squads. The Tigers are shooting 38.5 percent from the field, 23.9 percent from behind the arc, and 66.5 percent from the charity stripe. Clemson is outrebounding opponents by a +4.6 margin and committing fewer turnovers.
The Tigers are led by Delicia Washington with 12.5 points and 7.2 rebounds per game in 11 starts. Kiara Lewis is chipping in 10.2 points and 3.8 boards each outing, also starting all 11 contests. Â
LAST TIME OUT
Dayton started off its second Florida tournament with a 71-64 victory over High Point Monday, holding off a late Panther rally.
Erin Whalen had a team-high 26 points and hit eight threes, the second most in program history.
Clemson opened its West Palm Beach Invitational against No. 21 LSU and dropped a 70-56 decision in the battle of the Tigers. The game was tied at the half, but a strong third quarter gave LSU the victory.
THE SERIES
Dayton and Clemson have met twice previously with both teams holding one victory each. In the last meeting back in 2007, the Flyers won at home 81-43.
STATISTICAL RANKINGS
Dayton ranks 18th nationally in fewest turnovers per game and 20th in three point field goal percentage. Individually,
Tenin Magassa is 46th in the country in blocked shots per game while
Makira Cook is 56th in Division I in field goal attempts.
