Box Score WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – The University of Dayton women's basketball team finished up the West Palm Beach Invitational with a 60-46 victory over Clemson University Tuesday afternoon.
The Flyers (8-3) keep their winning streak going while the Tigers (6-6) move to .500 on the season.

th quarter – 35 seconds – Dayton hit their final eight free throws to clinch the win for the Flyers.
1st Quarter: Dayton 20, Clemson 10
- Dayton jumped out to an early lead with a three and a jumper from graduate students Jenna Giacone and Erin Whalen respectively in the opening minute.
- Clemson had to call a timeout just 1:37 into the game as the Flyers led 8-0.
- The Flyers were 4-of-5 from three in the opening 3:30 as they pulled ahead by 10, 14-4.
- Dayton put the clamps on Clemson defensively, forcing the Tigers to shoot 25 percent and have a three minute drought midway through the quarter.
- UD forced six turnovers in the first 10 minutes of the contest.
2nd Quarter: Dayton 36, Clemson 26
- The Tigers came alive to start the second with a 7-0 run to pull within three points of the Flyers.
- Dayton did get its first points in the second until the 7:16 mark with a pair of free throws from grad student Araion Bradshaw.
- The Flyers were forced to call a timeout with 6:36 to play as the Tigers kept the momentum in their favor.
- At the midway point in the quarter, Dayton had its lead to 26-19 as the physicality of the game increased.
- It was Clemson's turn to call a timeout with 4:39 to play as the Flyers had the margin at nine points.
- UD got the margin back to double digits with a three in transition by Giacone as Clemson attempted to press.
- The Flyers led by 10 at the break despite shooting 32 percent from the field compared to the Tigers' 38 percent.
- Giacone led all scorers with 14 points in the first half on four threes.
3rd Quarter: Dayton 45, Clemson 39
- The Flyers were able to add to their lead in the first few minutes of the second half, but the Tigers were quick to respond.
- Senior Kyla Whitehead scored back-to-back baskets for the Flyers while doing just as much work on the other end of the floor defensively.
- By the media timeout, Dayton led Clemson 43-35.
- The Flyers went cold however and went over four minutes without a point.
4th Quarter: Dayton 58, Clemson 46
- The Tigers started strong again and made it a two-point game at 45-43 with 8:30 to play in the quarter.
- Giacone drilled a tough three with 7:19 to play in the face of a defender to end the skid for the Flyers and tie a season-high with her fifth made three of the game.
- Dayton faced a 2:30 scoring drought while Clemson had a 3:40 drought.
- Whalen hit a tough runner to end the skid for UD, making it a seven-point Flyer lead.
- Dayton used a 7-0 run over a 5:27 stretch to put the pressure on Clemson with under two minutes to play.
- The Flyers held the Tigers to a 1-for-13 stretch heading into the final 30 seconds.
