DAYTON - The University of Dayton women's basketball team will play its final non-conference game of the season Friday, Dec. 31 at noon when the Flyers host crosstown foe Wright State University at UD Arena. The game was added Wednesday after both programs had previous games cancelled.
Season ticket holders will have tickets automatically added to their accounts that will be visible in your My Flyer Account in the Dayton Flyers Gameday app. Fans who purchased single game and group tickets for the canceled game v. SCOUTING THE FLYERS
Dayton returns to action from the holiday break with an 8-3 record overall and 3-1 home mark. The Flyers have won two straight and last played at UD Arena on Nov. 30 against Florida A&M.
Head coach
Shauna Green is in her sixth season in charge of the Flyers and was named Atlantic 10 Coach of the Year 2020, her second time at UD. She earned her 100th win at Dayton in the regular season final last year.
As a team this year, Dayton is scoring 66.1 points per game and holding opposing teams to 58.5 points each outing. The Flyers are shooting 39.0 percent overall, 37.6 percent from three point range, and 65.5 percent from the free throw line. UD has +3.4 rebounding and +1.7 turnover margins as well.

Erin Whalen with 15.0 points and 6.5 rebounds per game and sophomore
Makira Cook with 14.5 points per game. Graduate student
Jenna Giacone is chipping in 13.1 points each contest as well.
SCOUTING WRIGHT STATE
Wright State comes to UD Arena with a 1-7 record on the year and 0-4 Horizon League mark. The Raiders have had multiple games cancelled or forfeited due to positive COVID tests and have played just one game since Thanksgiving. Their lone win came in their last outing against Lake Erie on Dec. 15.
Head coach Kari Hoffman is in her first year at Wright State, coming over from nearby Cedarville University for the past five seasons.
This season, the Raiders are averaging 62.2 points per contest and giving up 69.2 points to opposing teams. Wright State is shooting 37.6 percent from the field, 32.0 percent from behind the arc, and 65.8 percent from the charity stripe. WSU faces a -3.0 rebounding margin, but is committing fewer turnovers.
The leading scorer for the Raiders is Destyne Jackson with 14.0 points per game while Jada Roberson is contributing 11.0 points per game. Channing Chappell is the third Raider to start six games this season.
LAST TIME OUT
Dayton finished up the West Palm Beach Invitational with a 2-0 record after recording a 60-46 victory over Clemson in the finale.
Araion Bradshaw had a double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds while
Jenna Giacone had a team-high 19 points.
Wright State has not played since Dec. 15 in a 91-60 win over Lake Erie at home. The Raiders jumped out to a 33-10 lead in the first quarter and never looked back in their first victory of the season. Five players scored in double digits for WSU.
THE SERIES
Dayton and Wright State have played 40 times previously with the Flyers controlling the series at 36 victories to four for the Raiders, including the last seven contests. The two teams last met on Dec. 3, 2014 with UD winning on the road, 79-76.
STATISTICAL RANKINGS
Dayton ranks 13th nationally in three point field goal percentage and 16th in turnovers per game. Individually,
Araion Bradshaw is 33rd in the country in free throws attempted and 47th in free throws made while ranking 46th in assist to turnover ratio.
SHOUP HILL NAMED A-10 ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Freshman forward
Brynn Shoup-Hill was named A-10 Rookie of the Week on Dec. 6 for her efforts in wins over Florida A&M and Illinois St. The Goshen, Ind. native had a breakout performance with a career-high 14 points, going 4-of-4 from three and 2-of-2 from the free throw line along with three rebounds in the win Sunday. She finished the week with an 8.5 points per game average and only missed one shot over the two-game stretch last week, both wins for the Flyers.

COOK EARNS ALL-TOURNAMENT TEAM HONORS AT DAYTONA BEACH INVITATIONAL
Sophomore guard
Makira Cook was named to the All-Tournament Team as well as Player of the Game in the win over Illinois, capping off a productive weekend at the Daytona Beach Invitational. Cook averaged 18.5 points, 2.5 rebounds, and 2.0 assists per game without committing a turnover and shooting 46.2 percent from three.
FLYERS FAVORITE IN PRESEASON POLL
Dayton was picked to as preseason favorites after winning the A-10 regular season in 2020-21. The Flyers received 11 first-place votes and were selected ahead of Rhode Island, Fordham, Saint Louis, and VCU.
FLYERS IN REGULAR SEASON LEAGUE PLAY
Dayton has won 126 of its last 153 regular season Atlantic 10 games (.824), a streak that dates back to a 97-46 win over Rhode Island on Jan. 7, 2012, and includes a perfect 14-0 mark in conference play during the 2012-13 season.
BRADSHAW NAMED A-10 WOMAN OF THE YEAR NOMINEE
The Atlantic 10 Conference chose its NCAA Woman of the Year nominees and selected University of Dayton graduate student
Araion Bradshaw as one of the two representatives. Bradshaw is the point guard with the women's basketball program and entering her fifth year at UD this fall. The Boston, Mass. native has helped lead the Flyers to four A-10 Championship titles. Bradshaw is a graduate student with a bachelor's degree in civil engineering, master's in engineering management, and working on her master's in business management.
Off the court, she has been just as impactful. She started the Athletes Driving Change organization that is a group of minority A-10 women's basketball players focused on the mission to "promote permanent change toward equality through the voices of Atlantic 10 female athletes using a unified and inclusive platform." She earned the Social Justice Award at this year's R.U.D.Y.S. Banquet for her work on equality and education. Bradshaw is a passionate and vocal leader in the community and has represented the University with the upmost integrity.
OFF TO A HOT START
Dayton has found much success under Coach Green in the month of January, going 34-2 in her first five seasons as head coach of the Flyers. That includes going undefeated in four of her five seasons.
THREE POINTS OF EXCELLENCE
Dayton has hit at least one three-point shot in 632 consecutive games dating back to Jan. 2, 2001, the longest streak in the Atlantic 10 Conference and one of the top streaks in the nation. The Flyers made a program-record 15 three-point field goals against Buffalo in the Connecticut World Vision Classic on Nov. 25, 2011. Dayton tied the record with 15 vs. Wright State on Nov. 28, 2012.
70'S THE MAGIC NUMBER
Since the 2009-10 season, Dayton is 178-22 (.889) when scoring 70 or more points, including 11-1 in 2016-17. During the 2010-11, 2011-12 and 2012-13 seasons, the Flyers only lost one game per season when scoring at least 70 points, and dropped only two games in 2019-20 when reaching that mark.
