MIAMISBURG, Ohio – The University of Dayton women's tennis team fell on Saturday night 6-1 against Illinois State at South Regency Tennis Center in Miamisburg.

The loss puts Dayton's record at 1-5 in 2021. The Flyers opened the match up by dropping the doubles point. The Flyers took the No. 2 doubles match convincingly as sophomore

Natalie Stanton took the set 6-1, but UD failed to take the other two flights and Illinois State took the early lead.

The Flyers could not get much in singles play either. Dayton fell in straight sets in No. 4, 5, and 6 singles as freshman

Paige Kompa fell in a tiebreak in the first set before dropping the second in No. 1 singles and sophomore
Elizabeth Hamilton won in a tiebreak in the second set in No. 3 singles. Hamilton fell 10-8 in the third set to drop the point.

Wojcikiewicz took the lone point for UD on the evening. The reigning Atlantic 10 Women's Tennis Performer of the Week won the first set in No. 2 singles and after dropping the second set took the third 10-7 to take the point for Dayton.

The Flyers will remain home Sunday to take on Saint Francis at 12 p.m. at South Regency.
