MIAMISBURG, Ohio – The University of Dayton women's tennis team defeated Saint Francis on Sunday afternoon at South Regency Tennis Center in Miamisburg.
With the win, the Flyers improve to 2-5 on the season and go 1-1 on the weekend. UD opened the afternoon by taking the doubles point. Sophomores
Paige Kompa and
Elizabeth Hamilton won in No. 1 doubles and with the Red Flash only having five competitors, freshmen
Sarah DeMarco and
Julia Bays won No. 3 doubles by default to give UD a 1-0 lead.

Erica Wojcikiewicz won in straight sets in No. 2 singles 6-3, 6-1. Hamilton followed with a victory in No. 3 singles and junior
Natalie Stanton picked up her first career singles victory at Dayton, taking No. 5 singles in two sets as well.
The Flyers will compete in two matches next weekend, first at home against Bellarmine on Friday Feb. 26 at 3 p.m. before heading to Northern Kentucky on Saturday, Feb. 27 to take on the Norse at 4:30.
