MIAMISBURG, Ohio – The University of Dayton women's tennis team fell on Friday night to Eastern Michigan 4-3 at South Regency Tennis Center in Miamisburg.

The loss puts the Flyers at 0-2 on the young season. Eastern Michigan improves to 2-1.

UD opened the night by dropping the doubles point. The Eagles took all three doubles frames from the Flyers.

In singles play, senior
Kelly Pleiman put the Flyers on the board with a win in No. 4 singles, taking down Eastern Michigan's Vered Bert in straight sets 6-4, 6-3. The Flyers dropped No. 2, 3, and 5 singles, however with sophomore

The Flyers closed out the night with wins from sophomore
Paige Kompa and junior
Claire Ghidotti. Kompa took down EMU's Isabelle Pompa in No. 1 singles, winning a 10-7 decision on a tiebreak for the third set. Ghidotti dropped the first set in No. 6 singles, but rallied to take the second set 7-6 in a tiebreak and won the tiebreak 12-10 to cap off the night for Dayton.
