Box Score 2 MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - The University of Dayton softball team split its games on the opening day of the 2021 MTSU Invitational. In the first game of the weekend, Dayton outlasted Illinois State, 3-2, before falling to host Middle Tennessee, 8-0 (5). Freshman
Megan Ward continues to lead the Flyer offense, recording four hits on the day.
Dayton is now 4-5 on the season.

• Ward recorded a single in her first at-bat of the game, the Flyers' only hit of the contest

UP NEXT
Dayton will play two more games tomorrow on the second day of the MTSU Invitational. North Dakota State and Dayton will open day-two action with first pitch scheduled for 11 a.m. ET at Blue Raider Softball Field. The Flyers' second day of the game will be determined by the outcome of UD vs. NDSU and ISU vs. MTSU.
