INDIANAPOLIS – The University of Dayton women's tennis team fell on the road 4-3 at Butler on Saturday afternoon.

The Flyers fall to 4-7 on the season with the loss. Dayton opened the day with a strong performance in doubles play. Sophomores
Paige Kompa and
Elizabeth Hamilton took down Natalie Boesing and Sarah Monesmith of Butler in No. 1 singles 6-1. With the win the pair improved to 7-3 overall in doubles and it marked the fifth-straight victory for Kompa and Hamilton as a doubles pair.

Erica Wojcikiewicz gave the Flyers a 1-0 lead in the match when they took the No. 2 doubles match 6-3 for the duo's fourth straight doubles win.

Dayton could not pull out the victory as Wojcikiewicz, Kompa, Hamilton, and junior
Claire Ghidotti all fell in their singles matches. Freshman
Sarah DeMarco took the No. 4 singles flight in straight sets and senior
Kelly Pleiman defeated Hallie Leblebijian of Butler in three sets to take the fifth singles flight for the other two UD points on the match.

The Flyers will return home next weekend for two matches, facing off against Xavier on Friday, March 19 at 7 p.m. before taking on West Virginia State on March 20 at 5 p.m. Both matches will take place at South Regency Tennis Center in Miamisburg.
