PITTSBURGH ā The University of Dayton women's soccer team opened Atlantic 10 Conference play with a 1-1 double overtime draw at Duquesne Sunday afternoon at Rooney Field.
Dayton's record is now 3-2-1 overall and 0-0-1 in the A-10. This was Duquesne's first match of the season.
KEY STATS
⢠ The Flyers had the edge on shots, 22-17, and also had nine shots on goals to Duquesne's six shots on goal.
⢠ Dayton also also had the slight advantage on corner kicks, 6-4.
⢠ Fouls were even with 13 on Dayton and 12 on the Dukes. However Duquesne had two players with yellow cards, while Dayton had just one.

Madison Wilson and sophomore
Audrey Steiert led UD with three shots on goal each.
⢠ Defenders
Mackenzie Lutz and Steiert played all 110 minutes of the match. Sophomore goalkeeper
Madelyn Dewey also played the entire match and snagged four saves.
KEY MOMENTS
⢠ Freshman
Madison Wilson scored in the 78th minute. Steiert built up the attack out of the back and found fellow sophomore
Jessica Sheldon. Sheldon, who dominated the left flank, beat a defender and crossed the ball into the box. Wilson flicked it up and over the keeper in the upper far post.
⢠ The Dukes tied the match with a goal in the 87th minute.
⢠ In the two overtime periods Dayton outshot Duquesne 6-2 overall and 3-0 on goal.
