OLEAN, N.Y. – The University of Dayton women's soccer team (4-3-1 overall, 1-1-1 Atlantic 10) picked up its first Atlantic 10 win of the 2021 season and spoiled St. Bonaventure's home opener with a 3-0 victory at Marra Complex Sunday afternoon.
The Bonnies fell to 0-3-0 overall and also 0-3-0 in conference play, not playing any non-conference matches this season.
SCORING SUMMARY
•  Freshman
Itala Gemelli scored three consecutive goals for the Flyers, including the opening and game-winning goal in the third minute against St. Bonaventure to put Dayton up 1-0.
•  Sophomore
Marlee Taylor scored her first collegiate goal on an assist from freshman
Mia Perri in the 36th minute to give the Flyers a 2-0 lead.
•  UD's final goal came in the opening minutes of the second half. A cross by freshman
Diana Benigno glanced off an DBU defender and into the back of the net for a Bonnies own goal in the 47th minute.
KEY STATS
•  Dayton led 2-0 at the half.
•  The Flyer defense posted its third shutout of the season and allowed just three shots on goal.
•  UD had 10 shots to just four shots for SBU.
•  Dayton had four corner kicks and St. Bonaventure had three.

•  The Flyers return back to Baujan Field for a rematch with Duquesne on Saturday, March 27 at 1 p.m. The squads tied 1-1 in double overtime the first meeting this season which took place in Pittsburgh.
