Women's Tennis Falls To Western Kentucky On Saturday Afternoon

The Flyers Will Next Compete In The A-10 Championships

DAYTON – The University of Dayton women's tennis team fell on Saturday afternoon 6-1 to Western Kentucky at Graul Tennis Complex.
 
The Flyers drop to 5-13 on the 2021 season in the team's last scheduled regular season match. The team dropped the doubles point despite senior Kelly Pleiman and freshman Sarah DeMarco holding a 4-3 lead in No. 3 doubles. Western Kentucky took the first two flights and the doubles point and Dayton trailed 1-0.
 
Sophomore Elizabeth Hamilton took UD's lone point in No. 3 singles. The Union, Ky., native won her sixth singles contest of the season in straight sets over Lauren Joch of the Hilltoppers 6-4, 6-2. Sophomore Erica Wojcikiewicz took the No. 2 singles match into a third set, but could not win the point, with the rest of the matches resulting in straight set victories for WKU.
 
The Flyers will next compete in the Atlantic 10 Championship in Orlando, Fla. from Wednesday, April 28 to Saturday, May 1.
