DAYTON - The University of Dayton volleyball team has advanced to the finals of the 2020-21 Atlantic 10 Championship with its 3-0 win over fourth-seeded Fordham Friday. The Championship is being hosted by the top-seeded Flyers at Frericks Center April 2-3.
Dayton will square off against No. 2 VCU in the finals, the fourth-consecutive time the pair have matched up in the title match.

• 44 - as a team, Dayton recorded 44 kills to Fordham's 31
• 31 - senior
Bridget Doherty tallied a match-high 31 assists, her third 30+ assist performance in a three-set match this season. Doherty also had 11 digs for her second double-double this season
• 20 - junior
Maura Collins led all passers with 20 digs, her second-consecutive and third overall 20+ dig performance this year
• 12 - junior
Jamie Peterson posted a match-high 12 kills as one of two Flyers in double-digits. Freshman
Lexie Almodovar had 10 kills.
• 10.0 - the Flyers had a total of 10.0 team blocks led by freshman
Alayna Yates with two solo and three assisted blocks
UP NEXT
 On Saturday, No. 1 Dayton will square off against No. VCU in the championship title match. First serve is set for 12 p.m. ET at Frericks Center. There will be no public ticket sales due to COVID-19 restrictions. The match will be available via

DAYTON IN THE A-10 CHAMPIONSHIP
Dayton is on the hunt for its third-consecutive and 14th overall A-10 Championship title. In 24 appearances in the post-season conference tournament, the Flyers have tallied a 32-10 overall record and, since the team joined the league prior to the 1995 season, UD has only missed the championship twice (1995, 1999). Dayton boasts a total of 13 championship titles, five more than former A-10 member Penn State (8).
