LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. - University of Dayton women's golf freshman
Sarah O'Connor was named the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Rookie of the Year after her second-place finish at the 2021 MAAC Championship. Her second place finish is the highest for a Flyer at the conference tournament in program history. The three-day event was played on the Disney Magnolia Course at par 72.
As a team, Dayton took third place overall with a 45-hole score of 315-311-149=775 (+55). O'Connor paced the Flyers with her four-over-par score of 75-72-37=184. Quinnipiac claimed top honors and a bid to the NCAA Tournament with its team score of 304-296-150=750 (+30) and Hartford's Maria Loza won medalist honors for her score of 72-72-37=181 (+1).
The final round of the tournament was shortened to nine holes after a lengthy weather delay.
