DAYTON - The University of Dayton softball team will play host to Morehead State Wednesday for a non-conference doubleheader. First pitch between the Flyers and Eagles is set for 2 p.m. April 7 at UD Softball Stadium.

SCOUTING MOREHEAD STATE
Morehead State (7-20) went 1-2 at OVC foe Tennessee State last weekend picking up its first Ohio Valley Conference win of the season, a 1-0 complete-game shutout for Eagles' pitcher Lennon Spicer. Alexis Strother (.312) and Kirya Kingery (.311) carry the team's best batting averages with 24 and 23 hits respectively. Strother also leads MSU offense with four doubles and eight walks while Kingery is a stealthy 19-of-21 in stolen bases. Spicer (5-11) is the Eagles' number one starter in the circle with 90.2 innings pitched. She leads the team with 57 strikeouts and eight complete games.

ABOUT DAYTON
Dayton (11-14) split its Atlantic 10 series at Saint Louis, 2-2, last weekend and now sit at 6-2 in league play and the Flyers are 5-3 at home heading into Wednesday's doubleheader. UD has three everyday players hitting at .300 and above, led by freshman Megan Ward with a .395 average. She has tallied a team-high 34 hits to go with an 8-and-10 outcome in stolen bases while junior Alyssa Cacini (.319) has recorded a team-best seven doubles to go with six home runs. Freshman Addy Bullis (6-4) leads the Flyers' pitching corps with 52 strikeouts and four complete games over 58.2 innings pitched.

ATTENDANCE AT UD SOFTBALL STADIUM
Based on campus and local COVID-19 protocols and capacity restrictions, Dayton home athletic events will not be open to the general public. Limited seating is available to guests of Dayton student-athletes (names must be on a pass list for admission). Currently, visiting team fans are not permitted in/at the facility. Additionally, attendance at Dayton home athletic events will be socially distanced and fans are required to wear masks. These protocols will be reviewed as the season progresses.
