COLUMBUS, Ohio  – The University of Dayton men's soccer team powered its way to a 5-1 win over UAB in the season opening victory at the Wolstein Classic Friday afternoon.

The Flyers (1-0) continue their hot streak off the preseason while the Blazers (0-1) still look for their first win of the year.

GAME RECAP

• Dayton opened the scoring in the 13^th minute with a goal from junior Jaden Jones-Riley, unassisted.
• The Blazers answered with a goal in the 15^th minute to make it a 1-1 contest.
• Junior Forster Ajago put Dayton back on top with his first goal as a Flyers in the 43^rd minute with the assist from sophomore Michael Adedokun.
• Jones-Riley added to the Flyer advantage with his second goal in the 47^th minute.
• Ajago added a brace himself with a fourth goal at the 51 minute mark, assisted by Jones-Riley.
• Jones-Riley recorded his first career hat trick with a goal in the 51^st minute to make it 5-1 in favor of UD.
• Possession was split 50-50 in the contest.
• Sophomore Marc Kouadio recorded three saves in goal.
• Jones-Riley and Ajago both had four shots to lead the Flyers.

COACH'S COMMENTS
"We have been talking about the importance of getting a good start to the season prior to the summer so I thought the team responded very well to the challenge," said head coach Dennis Currier. "We put together some really good moments in the game that produced some excellent goals."
