ANN ARBOR, Mich. - The University of Dayton volleyball team picked up two wins Friday at the Michigan Invitational, downing Boston College and Eastern Michigan at Cliff Keen Arena. In the morning match, UD bested BC 3-1 (25-18, 17-25, 25-21, 25-19) and followed that with a 3-0 (25-17, 25-12, 25-23) win over EMU in the nightcap.
Dayton improves to 6-4 on the season. Boston College is now 10-2 overall while Eastern Michigan moves to 4-6 on the year.
GAME ONE
Dayton 3, Boston College 1
• 20 - senior
Jamie Peterson led all attackers with 20 kills. She was one off the double-double with nine digs
• 14 - freshman
Lexie Almodovar was the second Flyer with double-digit kills (14) to go with nine digs
• 7 - as a team, Dayton served up seven aces to Boston College's one ace
GAME TWO
Dayton 3, Eastern Michigan 0
• 16 - Peterson tallied the match's most kills with 16
• 15 - led by sophomore
Livie Sandt with five, Dayton tallied 15 service aces to Eastern Michigan's one
• .421 - with 10 kills to two errors in 19 attempts, Almodovar posted a .421 hitting percentage for the match
UP NEXT
Dayton will close out the 2021 Michigan Invitational with a 4 p.m. match against the Wolverines on Saturday.
