RICHMOND, Va.– The University of Dayton men's soccer team opened Atlantic 10 play this weekend with a 2-0 loss at VCU.
The Flyers (3-4-2, 0-1 A-10) look to get back in the win column while the Rams (5-2-1, 1-1 A-10) move up in the league standings.
GAME RECAP
- VCU opened the scoring in the 21st minute off a corner kick after a great save by sophomore goalkeeper Marc Kouadio on the first attempt.
- The Rams doubled their lead in the 87th minute with a goal in transition.
- Dayton totaled 10 shots compared to VCU's 17 attempts.
- Kingsford Adjei, Pape Gueye, and Forster Ajago led UD with two shots each.
COACH'S COMMENTS
"It's always disappointing to start with a loss in the first conference game," said head coach
Dennis Currier. "However, we have to continue to trust the process and there was some growth tonight with our overall play."
