Men's Tennis Concludes Play At ITA Regionals

Georgi Mavrodiev Falls In Singles Back Draw On Saturday

Box Score KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – The University of Dayton men's tennis team finished play at the Ohio Valley ITA Regionals on Saturday.
 
Junior Georgi Mavrodiev fell to Oliver Andersson of Austin Peay in the Round of 32 of the Back Draw in three sets, 6-3, 6-7, 12-10 to finish play at the event. Mavrodiev got a victory in the first round of the Back Draw on Friday over Abe Wojtalik to set up today's match.
 
The Flyers withdrew from the doubles Back Draw, ending competition at the event.
 
Overall, Dayton saw victories from sophomore Erik Eliasson and freshman Eric Perkowski in the Main Draw of competition, the first of the collegiate career of Perkowski on Thursday, with Mavrodiev's win on Friday closing out competition for singles play.
 
UD will return home to compete in the UD Hidden Dual next Friday and Saturday, Oct. 1-2 at Graul Tennis Complex on Dayton's campus.
