DAYTON – The University of Dayton men's tennis team will take on Thomas More in a doubleheader at South Regency Tennis Center on Sunday. The first match is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m.
Â
The Flyers sit at 1-3 on the season after taking down Xavier 4-3 on Friday night. Senior
Will Harper clinched the match for Dayton with a three-set victory over Cambell Nakayama on Court Five.
Â
That victory put Harper in the Top 25 in the history of the program in singles victories. Junior
Matt DeMarco and freshman
Eric Perkowski also picked up wins for the Flyers over the Musketeers.
Â
Thomas More enters the contests with a 1-1 record after falling to Northern Kentucky in their spring opener last weekend. The Saints fell 7-0 in a match that featured three sophomores and two freshmen.
Â
The Saints forced three third sets in that match with Sergio San Pablo, Alonso dePrada, and Villagrana Francisco all falling in three.
Â
This marks the first time these two programs will face off and are the second and third of five straight home matches for Dayton, who will look to extend a 13-match home winning streak on Sunday afternoon.
