INDIANAPOLIS – The University of Dayton women's tennis team won for the second time this weekend on Saturday afternoon, downing IUPUI 7-0 at West Indy Racquet Club.

The Flyers move back over .500, now 4-3 this season, while IUPUI falls to 1-4 in 2022. Dayton opened the match by taking the doubles point, winning on each of the top two courts. Junior

Elizabeth Hamilton and
Erica Wojcikiewicz gave Dayton an early 1-0 lead by taking a win on Court Two 6-3.

Dayton also took each of the singles matches. Senior
Claire Ghidotti and freshman
Laura Greb each won by forfeit in No. 5 and 6 singles to put the Flyers up 3-0. Wojcikiewicz won her matchup at No. 1 singles in straight sets over Meghan Bernard 6-3, 6-1.

Katauskas also got a win for the Flyers, taking the second singles flight against Samantha Hayward 6-0, 6-2. Hamilton won a three-set match in No. 3 singles over Sarah Lounsbury 6-1, 4-6, 1-0 and Kompa finished off the day for Dayton with a straight-set win on Court Four. Kompa defeated Diya Matta 7-6, 6-0.

The Flyers will return for two home matches next weekend. UD will take on Marshall on Saturday at 2:30 p.m. and will cap the weekend off with a match against Butler on Sunday at noon. Both matches will take place at South Regency Tennis Center in Miamisburg.
