NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - University of Dayton men's golf freshman Jacob Garland was named the Atlantic 10's Rookie of the Week as announced by the conference office Friday. Garland recorded a top-10 finish at the Tom Tontimonia Invitational earlier in the week.

In the fourth event of his collegiate career, Garland tallied his second top-10 finish at Cleveland State this week. He turned in a three-round score of 73-73-70=216 (+3) to finish in a tie for 10th place among a field of 78. Garland average a score of 4.00 on par-four holes which tied for third-lowest score among the field.

UP NEXT
In less than two weeks, Dayton will host its singular home event of the season, the Flyer Invitational Oct. 17-18. The three-round event will be contested at NCR Country Club in Kettering.
