DAYTON - The University of Dayton volleyball team split its Atlantic 10 Conference series with Loyola Chicago after dropping a 3-1 (25-20, 25-18, 19-25, 25-18) decision to the Ramblers Saturday at Frericks Center. As a team, Dayton tallied 11.5 blocks compared to Loyola's 2.0, with two Flyers contributing six assisted blocks apiece.
Dayton moves to 16-13 on the season and 10-6 in conference games while Loyola is now 21-8 overall and 15-1 in league action.
KEY STATS
15 - sophomore 
Lexie Almodovar led the Flyer attack with 15 kills and was one off the double-double with nine digs
12 - sophomore 
Anna Wuensch got under a team-high 12 digs
11.2 - Dayton tallied 11.5 team blocks led by junior 
Amelia Moore and sophomore Brooke Smith with six assisted blocks each
SE - both teams were plagued with service errors as Dayton committed 13 and Loyola miss-served 12 times
UP NEXT
Dayton will close out the 2022 regular season next weekend at home with two matches against Rhode Island. Flyer fans will recognize a familiar face on the Rhode Island bench as we welcome back to Frericks Center Rams' head coach Angel Agu, a 2016 graduate of the University of Dayton and four-time Atlantic 10 champion as a member of Dayton volleyball. The Flyers and Rams are scheduled to square off Friday, Nov. 11 at 7 p.m. followed by a 4 p.m. first serve on Saturday, Nov. 12. The program will be recognizing its departing team members Saturday prior to the match during Senior Day recognition.
